A mutual friend at our old stomping grounds (Remember 'MBTM'?) asked me how I can still be at this after all these years. I basically told him that with all that's been posted, it's really just the tip of the iceberg as far as black music is concerned. There's ALOT of sounds from groups we've yet to hear about. Even though they're musical careers been over and some of them aren't with us anymore. As long as that's the case, I feel obligated o keep digging as deeply as I can into our musical journey. Box sets like THIS one are the reason why I keep going. I have a couple of these albums but never the entire set. MASTERFUL post brotha.
ReplyDeleteWhat's happenin,' Run? Sorry for the delay. Had to take a break for a while. Yes, I remember MBTM. I can't believe how much time has passed. It's been 20 YEARS since we first started posting on BGOL. That's hard to believe. I don't know if you remember me saying on BGOL, that they could stop making music and we'd still be good. There is still a lot out here. Some still unreleased on CD. Give me a few, and I'll rip and scan this and shoot it to you. Good hearing from you. Holla at you later. Peace.
